Hi All,

Greg sorry mate it already happened. Amazing place Dr Palmer has there [UP]

It was a good day but sadly Dave's engine is not so well anymore and mines developed an oil leak. Camcorder wasn't working either so a bit of a bummer really. Got some good laps in though but not sure if I'll do anymore this year now. Need some new tyres on the front and also get this oil leak fixed so funds aren't going to be there [;-(]
Christian

Hi all :wavey:

That was an eventful but still enjoyable day - managed a trip to into the gravel trap  , a spin [%-)] and then just as the laps were coming together the engine developed a death rattle [;-(] . Oil pressure Ok [UP] but running on three [D] and sounding like a bag of nails so dropped valve or spring seems to be favourite.

Winter refurb just moved up the diary a bit as planning to pull engine out for strip down and take the chance to sort out chassis, suspension and maybe a bit of brake upgrade depending on how large the engine bill is. I expect to see a lot of the inside of my garage between now and the end of the year.

Dave

gosh sounds like a bit of an eventful day for you both!

how did the track compare to Colerne? good quality run off? good mix of curves? were there many changes in camber?

what BHP is yours dave? an engine rebuil;d may be an opportunity to upgrade a few internals.....or perhaps even a new engine?

the oil leek doesn;t sound that serious christian? although i guess your boat takes up a lot of your cash....and you caterham boys dont know the meaning of expensive rubber!! i cant really talk with 16" either- i always pity all the M3s on track days and their 18" rubber!!!

Hi Greg

Its much longer than Colerne with a good mix of corners and plenty of run off , pretty flat but more of a real track experience.

Current engine is already a Minister built job with non o/e internals so not a lot of upgrade option - any upgrade really needs moving up from 1.4 to 1.6 or 1.8 and then upgrading from standard engine. Decision to be made after initial strip down.

Dave
